Terry brings more than 25 years consulting and technology operational management experience to his Fortune 500 clients. He has successfully delivered on many multi-industry large-scale transformations including mergers and acquisitions and technology integration engagements. Terry has worked with diverse industry clients in financial services, professional services, healthcare, consumer products, technology and telecommunications. Terry specializes in corporate technology consulting, strategic planning, and portfolio program management. Terry takes on complex challenges and focuses on opportunities that CIOs face today and delivers on strategic capabilities to help CIO’s: Increase return on their IT investments by aligning IT with the business, identifying areas for cost reduction, improving delivery speed and reducing risk in implementing strategic initiatives to ultimately accelerate IT decision making. Terry has a proven track record for developing creative solutions to management challenges and driving implementation through cross-functional collaboration between different groups.
Terry is currently a Partner at DayBlink Consulting where he leads engagements in technology transformation, and business innovation. Prior to DayBlink, Terry was a Principal with the WGroup, a technology transformation management consulting firm. He spent almost 4 years working in PwC technology consulting practices in IT Strategy, Systems Integration and spearheaded the competency development of PPM (Project Portfolio Management) for full lifecycle technology software and hardware practices. In his various strategic technology engagements, he led clients in the planning, program management and due diligence of software selection, integration and technology support.
Prior to PwC, Terry led technology for Morgan Stanley’s corporate technology group. Here he guided clients and defined enterprise strategic plans for full lifecycle project portfolios. He consolidated, streamlined and improved governance and processes, and brought in a number of new enterprise-wide technology solutions. These engagements included the rationalization and integration of various business technologies. Each engagement followed a rigorous methodology of current state environment analysis, definition of the “future state” solution architecture, definition of key gaps, a plan of the integration and an implementation of all technology, process and people components. In most instances, identification of software services was sought with guidance from industry leading analysts. Each solution was selected based on its strategic fit, the most cost effective and most technically and functionally appropriate for the client’s business needs. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Terry served as Senior Program Manager for PwC focusing on major transformation and included a number of industry mergers and acquisitions.
Terry holds a business administration (MBA) degree from the Durban University of Technology in South Africa. He speaks frequently at CIO industry conferences, and has authored a number of whitepapers on Program Management, Technology innovation and teaming. In addition, Terry currently actively participates in CIO activities for Society for Information Management (SIM), a Global CIO non-profit group.
