Code of Conduct
At SIM New York, we are dedicated to fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all members. Our Code of Conduct is a crucial part of this commitment, ensuring that everyone feels valued and heard. All members of our community agree to abide by the following code of conduct, as well as the SIM National Code of Conduct
Create a Safe and Respectful Environment for All Participants
We are committed to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, or technology choices.
Respect personal boundaries and consent
Be mindful of your language and behavior
Report harassment to any of our chapter officers
Respect Each Others' Privacy
We work hard to create a trusted environment where community members can engage in inclusive and open dialogue and safely share information in order to effectively support one another in understanding and resolving complex problems.
You may use information shared within our community; but you must maintain the anonymity of the source and any other participants (The Chatham House Rule)
Respect the proprietary rights of your employers, clients, and other persons or organizations
Only use member lists, directories, and other sources of member contact information to conduct official chapter business
No Solicitation
Members of our community include both buyers and sellers of products and services; and commercial relationships often result from the personal relationships that are the foundation of our community. However, no direct or indirect solicitation to purchase any product or service will be tolerated.
If you provide products or services that may be of value to members of our community, join our community by becoming an official sponsor of SIM New York (note that the no solicitation policy applies to all community members, including sponsors)
Focus on building authentic relationships by investing your time and energy in actively engaging with and supporting the rest of our community
Respect this policy; do not try to circumvent it
